Privacy Policy
Last updated 12 August 2026
MendBid connects homeowners in Saskatoon with independent trade businesses. This policy describes what we collect, why, and what we do not do.
What we collect
If you post a job
- Your name, email address and mobile number.
- The service address for the job, and any access notes you add.
- Photos you take or choose, and the description you write.
- Messages you exchange with a business through the app.
If you operate a trade business
- Business name, contact name, phone and email.
- Licence, insurance and WCB documents you upload for verification, and the reference numbers and expiry dates on them.
Automatically
- A device token, if you turn on notifications, so we can send them.
- Your app version, to diagnose faults.
Who sees your address
This is the part worth reading twice. While businesses are quoting, they see your photos, your description and the first three characters of your postal code — the neighbourhood, nothing more. Your street address, your name and your phone number are released to exactly one business: the one whose quote you accept. This is enforced by our database, not only by our app.
How we use it
To run the marketplace: showing your job to businesses in the right trade, delivering quotes, recording the agreement, and notifying you. We use verification documents solely to confirm a business is licensed and insured.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.
Who we share it with
- The business you hire — your name, address and phone, once you accept their quote.
- Supabase, which hosts our database and file storage. Our data is stored in Canada (ca-central-1).
- Apple, to deliver push notifications you opted into.
- Law enforcement, only where we are legally required.
How long we keep it
Job posts and photos are kept while the job is live and for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we erase your name, contact details, saved address and any job nobody was hired for. Jobs where you did hire someone are kept as an anonymous record — the street address is removed and your account is unlinked — because the contractor is entitled to their copy of a signed agreement.
Deleting your account
In the app: Account → Delete my account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone. You do not have to email us to ask.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent. Write to privacy@mendbid.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
MendBid is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is material.
