Terms of Service

Last updated 12 August 2026 · version 2026.08-draft

These terms are being reviewed by Saskatchewan counsel before public launch. They describe honestly how MendBid works today.

1. What MendBid is

MendBid is a marketplace that introduces homeowners to independent trade businesses. We are not a contractor. We do not perform, supervise, subcontract or warrant any work. Businesses on MendBid are not our employees or agents.

2. What we check, and what that means

Before a business can quote, we verify its City of Saskatoon business licence, liability insurance and WCB clearance, plus the trade-specific licence where one is required — a TSASK contractor licence for electrical or gas work, a City plumbing contractor licence for plumbing. We track expiry dates and suspend businesses whose credentials lapse.

That is a real check and we stand behind having done it. It is not a guarantee of the quality, timeliness, price or safety of any particular job.

3. Your agreement is with the contractor

When you accept a quote you enter an agreement directly with that business. We record its terms — price, scope, date — so both of you hold the same copy. We are not a party to that agreement and do not collect payment for the work.

4. Quotes

A fixed price is a commitment by the business offering it. A range is an estimate. Where a business says it needs to see the job first, accepting books a visit, not the repair. Businesses should tell you before exceeding a quoted range.

5. Your information

Businesses quoting see your photos, description and neighbourhood. Your street address and phone number are released only to the business you hire, and only for completing that job — not for marketing or resale.

6. Acceptable use

Do not post jobs you do not intend to have done, impersonate anyone, or use MendBid to collect contact details. We may remove any account that does.

7. Disputes

Disputes about the work are between you and the contractor. Tell us anyway: repeated complaints remove a business from the platform.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Saskatchewan law, MendBid is not liable for loss or damage arising from work performed by a business you hire through the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
